1914 French Rooster

    Bought it for $135, I was looking for this coin and I thought this was a good deal as its certified by NGC MS65

    What do u think?

    I have a 1907 in good shape but yours puts it to shame with all that luster!

    Yes it good price for coin with nice surfaces. It is not too much over price of gold in coin.

    Beautiful coin! What is the diameter of it? What's it's weight?

    The total weight of the coin is 6.4516 g.(0.2275 oz.) ,the gold content is 0.1867 oz.and the purity is .900 fine.The diameter is 21mm.

    Shatsi,that is a very nice coin.You will have to post some photos of coins & notes that you may have picked up when you were in Sri Lanka.They've issued new coins,which aren't yet listed in Krause.

    Nice coin shasta, Last year of minting for that coin. World War I came into play and ended the Napoleon started line of 20 Franc gold coins.

    Yes, they have but mostly they changed the metal content and size. They're brass color and smaller in size. I'll try to get some pics for you.

    I don't know why I even checked the World coin froum or why I clicked on this thread but I must say that this coin is really pretty---I might have to pick one up sometime---the price seems to be cheap when looking at US Gold coins...

    I have one from 1912, in a lot better shape then that, edited as well as an angel from 1848.
