Hi I brought a tub of coins from a sale for £2 there was European coins and this cent . Could someone tell me if its genuine or fake please looks very shiny. Ty .

not an ihc pro but I'd be leary of this. It would appear to be a type 2 but there seems to me to be way too many denticles between the A and the 6.
well, 1886 comes in varities type 1 and type 2 based on how close the last A in AMERICA is to the 6 in the date and in relation to the curl in Liberty's hair. Type 1 is closer to the 6 and shows about 3 denticles apart. Type 2 is farther away and shows about 6 denticles apart. In your example (and it may be just my eyes but) I count nine denticles between the 6 and the A. I see a bit more wear on the 6 also. I am just stating what I see. Someone who knows more may not think this an issue. Hope this helps.
In my searches for Indian Head nickels, I've never come across one as clean as the one shown. It's pretty nice. I hope all is well with your coin. I recently completed my collection of the Indian Head Cents, except for the 1833. The rarity of some coins seem to put the 1833 out of my reach. I did get a 3" 1833 that was a cup holder and also a quadrant of 1833 stamps. The stamps, I collect. The cup holder coin, I set my Pepsi's on.

That's awsome . The history here for a small island is immense. I'm glad you got to come . I have had two hoards gold stater loads of hammered coins . I had a hour on this new permission I got after work found a rare henry iv penny and edward I penny been on this field about 16 hrs all together had 13 hammered coin 3 silver milled and 13 different monarchs. I was told the end part of date 86 is a grease die error . What's your thoughts please.
WOW! I am envious. It's possible. That last digit could be weak due to grease on the die, but on a harshly cleaned coin like this, it's hard to say- it could have just been overscrubbed in that area. I do think it looks like a minor "greaser", but that's not a significant enough error to be worth any kind of premium, in any event.
It looks like it to me, given the way the 18 looks. The 86 didn't come out so crisp, something was in those interfering with the definition, caked-in grease will do that.
