Hello again guys, just wondering if anyone knows anything about a wee silver coin from Napoleon empire which I think says Demi Franc on it :S It's made out of silver and is mintmarked A with what appears to be a cockerel around from it.
The cameras out of action atm but it looks like this

except for the different mintmarks and mine being in slightly better (although still bad) condition.
    Cheers

Yes that is a demi franc pictured, and a quite scarce one at that. It is the lowest mintage of the series. The A mint is the largest mintage of the series.

Haha and there was me thinking i'd strck lucky on a 50p coin too, by demi franc it means a tenth as opposed to deci which would mean ten? Ta much :)

    A demi franc is a 1/2 franc.
