Looks 64ish to me.
It appears to be a proof. Nice coin, though not hugely valuable.
Looks like scratches in the right field to me. I don't think you wil get a MS grade.
So what is the French pronunciation and was that used in the early US? Some say "deem", according to google.

Yup, comes from the canvas bags these were stored in. Often considered a positive thing to toning lovers.
It takes years of experience, and knowledge of the different die states, typical strike for date, etc, etc, to be really good at grading the bust...

I'm not up on prices, but I think that this is a neat project. No expensive "stoppers", if you ignore the overdate.
I agree the term brings to mind a coin that has just high point rub from being slid across a surface. Right or wrong?
Well, you need some word to describe coins that an unscrupulous seller tries to "slide" into mint state.

Side note- someone could have a bit of fun attributing that 1826. Enough wear that it could be challenging.
Nice one, I'll guess 45. If they gave 45+'s more frequently, I'd probably go with that.
I'd say 60-70 on each. Some might pay a bit more. The 26 has the reverse wear against it, and the 36 has the specks and a bit of cleaning showing. JMO
Besutiful Walker. Both her leg and bust appear to show a couple of adjacent dings. Post mint or not?

I think I'm settling on 5.3 on the Morgan. Cool coin, though not exactly my speed.
I'll join the 3.5 crowd
