Try manual focus.
Because your eye sees them that way. Your eyes have an automatic white balance built in that gets fooled when you take a photo out of balance...

Yes, there is an old scratch on the obverse. Yes, there is a rim ding most visible on the reverse shot.

I'm not a fan of woodies. I find the toning pattern distracting on mint state coins, personally. That said, I think the 26-S is a nice coin....
