I'd guess a strike through - maybe grease. Notice the circular area with an almost total lack of detail. I'd keep it.
It's a wonderful coin. I'd guess that PCGS would grade this as XF40. I'd personally grade it at VF35. Great color.

You might want to check ebay. The prices realized on recent auctions are usually not too far out of line.
