1996-S circulated silver quarter

    I bought one off ebay for three bucks and some change.

    The Red Book lists an MS for ten bucks. Is it 90% silver? It's well circulated, and it shows. Is it worth putting in a holder, or should I just put it in a tube with the rest of my junk quarters?

    Oh I forgot, it's a proof.

    So would a circulated proof quarter be worth only the spot silver price? I can't see anyone paying a premium for it because it's a proof.

    Depends on how heavily circulated it is and how much eye appeal it still has in this condition, why not post a quick pic of the coin...

    Does look like tone. At first I thought maybe someone cracked it out and spent it because of the tone not knowing any better. Too bad you didn't find it in circulation yourself.

    MS would be around $1-$3.

    Thats where my quarter went.I would junk it,unless it is a super low mintage,and honestly I didnt even check,I just threw it in the coinstar last week.J/K :)
