PMD or Post Mint Damage. Whizzed? I'm not sure...
Whizzed: The process of moving metal on the surface of a coin to cover or fill marks or scratches. Often used in an attempt to make the coin appear to be in a higher grade. Checking near the small details of the coin can often uncover whizzing as the tools used do not work well around objects such as Dates.

I have heard of that. Can't imagine it being a mint error but it sure is different. How would anyone stretch wording like this and the Cent sure looks different. Thanks

I'm more at some caustic chemical coming into contact with this coin. Possibly an acid of some sort. Copper is soft and moves easily.

Definitely unique. I don't know that acid would make the the reverse look like it does but can't think of anything else either. Thanks for the reply

No matter how it got that way, it was after it left the mint. Neat coin to keep as a conversational piece.

I agree. I have a place just for that in my collection. Has to be pretty unique to get in there but it certainly qualities. Thanks for the reply Mountain Man.
