Howdy, I believe the doubling was DD but the rim strike has me confused as to what was the cause and if it attributed to doubling on obverse. Or am I totally off the mark again...lol Thanks again. 20211215_191627.jpg 20211215_191727.jpg Image_2021-12-15 19_07_58_626.JPG Image_2021-12-15 19_08_44_780.JPG Image_2021-12-15 19_09_01_535.JPG Image_2021-12-15 19_09_17_500.JPG Image_2021-12-15 19_11_40_218.JPG Image_2021-12-15 19_11_07_358.JPG

NAV Doubling and the rim being off is called a MAD or misaligned die. It’s caused by a worn die.

Notice the radial flow lines on the obverse. Your coin was struck with a very worn die. Die deterioration doubling.

Thank you for the explanation as to how die deterioration can affect the strike in different ways. I had it backwards.
