I did not say it matched. Just a reference of ones known. Did not want to say yours wasn't, because I am not sure from your pics what's going on with it. Perhaps a clearer Pic might help here.

I was just following up. Just like normal conversation....."here's the reference". -yeah, I saw that....etc..
It's close to one unconfirmed listing but mine is much clearer. I'll tell you, it's tough to get a good pic of these. Some of the documented images leave one guessing. Lol

Wow! I know this is an old thread but I gotta say thanks to @Lehigh96 for posting it. I got a '41S in my change today and this thread was all I needed to tell which MM I had. Unfortunately it is the small date, but it is the second oldest nickel I have ever received in change.

I am sorry but I was given mine back in my change at a gas station in Georgia.

@Lehigh96 thank you so much for this thread. I was discussing with @SensibleSal66 just this morning about starting a thread on the 1941 large and small S. That rotten @Lem E with his nice nickels put that 41s in my head the other day, and as any good obsessive compulsive does, i dug them out.
Mine are all heavily circulated, but I've found 24 small, and 2 large.
While you're examples are perfect, mine might look a little more what someone might see in pocket change.

    All small s

    They all look like this.
    Then there are these two

Can't see it here they're so worn but...
    You can see it here

when the three are stacked. When the three are placed side by side, there's no denying.
This thread is an amazing tool, thanks so much for creating!

@Lem E any examples of your own? Large and small? like @Lehigh96's, I'm sure yours are sublime. Hope I'm not bullying you into anything :bucktooth:

I don't know about @Lem E but I have one of each at NGC right now.

1941-S Jefferson Nickel FS (Hoping they ignore the spotting and give MS66 5FS):

I have a feeling they are gonna want to send it to NCS and charge me an extra $25.

Gorgeous. Mine are a little rough around the "edges".

Well, mine was tongue in cheek because a nickel is round, there really aren't any edges. Get it? It's kind of funny. What did yours mean?

HAHA! oh man, that was easy! I'm trying to find a Goodfellas meme of "you're a funny guy", but I'm not technologically advanced enough. I was goofing around! Sorry everyone, i was just funnin' on @SensibleSal66, we're actually good buds !

I have a couple of the Large S coins. Both MS-66. They both look very similar to eachother.

In all honesty - less than 10 die pairs used to strike 43 million coins seems to be a slight under-estimation to me. That is 4.3 million coins per die. Also would mean the Large "S" (used in only 1 die pair) should account for approximately 1 in every 10 nickels would be a Large "S".
