I stopped at a coin shop yesterday and came home with some neat stuff. Here are some of the highlights. First some lovely coins from Mexico.

    Staying in the Americas is this selection. I like the early Colombia and Peru issues, and there's a few others here I've never seen before. 1827 colombia 1 real.jpg 1833 peru half real.jpg 1863 peru half dinero.jpg 1870 paraguay 1 centesimo.jpg 1874 colombia 2 decimos.jpg 1915 cuba 40 centavos.jpg 1920 cuba 40 centavos.jpg 1954 british honduras 1 cent.jpg

    Some more non-European. The British Guiana 4 pence is in great condition. Actually a lot of these are. 1862 india 1 rupee.jpg 1885 french indochina 1 piastre.jpg 1891 british guiana 4 pence.jpg 1930 ethiopia 50.jpg 1959 kn east africa 1 cent.jpg 1962 st thomas 1 escudo.jpg

    Non-British European. The 1699 Naples 20 grana seems like a pretty good coin. 1699 naples 20 grana.jpg 1827 netherlands 10 cents.jpg 1872 italy 5 lire.jpg 1887 italy 2 lire.jpg 1917 poland 10 fenigow.jpg

Finally, some British and related coins and token. I thought the 1660 Bristol farthing was very interesting, and I love the 2 Gibraltar coins.

Looks like you cleaned out the shop!

I like those Mexican and star-backed centavos.

You did very good. Those Cuban 40 centavos are great and quite rare in that original shape. I want your Ethiopian coin. Amazing grade. PM me lol.

I love the Cuban coins but the trouble with buying them is they're not allowed on eBay so it's hard to figure out the true value. I think I'll hold on to the Ethiopian unless I find out I have a similar one already. It happens sometimes.

Here's another one I just scanned. It's a locally issued emergency token for 5 centimes from Bayonne, France in 1917. Probably one of the crudest coins I've seen from the modern era. 1917 bayonne 5 centimes.jpg

I have a couple of threepence coins from the Birmingham Workhouse - they are monster sized pieces. And curiously Boulton's mint struck patterns for a sixpence in bronze that weighed over 5 ounces.
