Hello Everyone, I'm really new to collecting wasn't sure if this is normal. I have a silver proof set that has what appears to be a bubble inside the case. None of my other mint set have this. I've enclose a picture to help. Is this normal? When I press on the case the bubble seems to disappear and then reappear when I release the case. Hoping this is just air bubble and not moisture. Thanks.
Yes its just an air bubble nothing to worry about.These plastic holders aren't exactly 100% air tight,nothing is!!!nice coins.
Tried posting twice and it dropped my reply. Here's a third try. I have coins from 1800 to today. I had previously stashed older coins over the years but never really collected anything. Just coins from change. That all changed recently since I was given a collection that was originally started with my great grandfather, then passed to grandfather to uncle then to me. I now have a collection that I am trying to learn as much as I can about. I have mint sets in uncirculated, proof, and silver from today back to 1950 (missing 2020s). Also completed sets of BU and proofs of each denomination back to 1930, except for 2012 to date since they stopped collection in 2012. My goal is to bring all the dominations up to date thru today. Then I will focus on the older stuff. Most of the pre-1930's is circulated with a few scattered proofs. From my crude evaluation based on photos from a book on grading most of the older coins, range from fine to AU with some maybe higher, but then again I'm new. I have to admit I like the new shiny coins, but the older coins are the true fascination to me.
