Here's an undated LMC that I'm not sure if it is just a blank planchet vice job or a legit mint error? It's definitely been squeezed between 2 other coins, but was it during the minting process or by idle hands (PMD)? Aside from the coin details, there are no other sign of damage on the edges or fields. Curious to see how many different responses on this one.
They did a good job then of lining up the smash coins. When flipped over, everything lines up properly. And yes, my auto fill picked the wrong "vise" and I didn't catch it lol.
Copper Blank planchets can be easily acquired and are cheap. Not a big loss. I've thought of making a similar vise job myself to mimick an error. I have a few things in mind to create
No it’s not a major or even a minor loss. I just think it’s a shame that some folks destroy something worth a few bucks trying to make it worth more and in the end it’s worth less.
