Beautiful IHC, no wear, nice clean cheeks, very clean obverse and reverse fields. Looks like a slightly weak strike from the lettering on the obverse...
No distracting marks at all and that toning sets the whole thing off very well, I might be a little high but I like it at MS66 RB. :greedy:
Might just be the light bouncing off strangely but do I see a little bit of some type of doubling on the "ONE" of the reverse?

MS 65...luster looks solid and the fields are relatively clean...the spot on the bottom of the reverse looks a bit worrisome and I think there is some chatter around the letters on the obverse (although it could be the photo)...this type of toning is also somewhat controversial (it looks like the MS 70 cleaner I've seen on cents, especially from eBay seller mikesmountainvalues)

Edit: I missed the color option in the poll...should be RB in my opinion

I am suspicious of the color, for the reason you brought up. There was no more room for the option “questionable color” for it, although the coin is straight graded.

Just go to eBay and look up that seller's sold listings. He has a ton with that type of look. NGC considers it market acceptable while PCGS is more strict (although quite a few straight grade too).

Well, I lost this auction by $5. I have bought his coins before, and have 4 of them. Kinda glad I lost, with a last minute snipe.

MS 62 RB, the Mark on the reverse at 6 o'clock, isn't that usually considered environmental damage? Still a nice coin!

    I’ll guess 64-RB.

I gave it a 65 and even though I couldn't select it, a RB. Yes, it has some of the coloring you see in raw coins from MikesMountainValues, but it's an NGC slab so that doesn't bother me for the grade. A couple of spots don't knock it down since it has very clean fields and devices.

Mike’s Mountain is just like Ed’s Dynamic Marketing, or Mother Nature’s Showroom (Ed’s and Mother Nature are the same person in Orlando Fl). He gets away with holdered market acceptable coins all the time, which are definitely QT.

Does bluelakesgoldandsilver sound familiar to you?.

MS65. The spot limits the grade.

Didn't think so just wondering because they have sold a lot of coins(specifically indians)that have toining like that.

They sell toners too, but most of what I have seen has looked market acceptable. They have a variety of coins and I haven't noticed any particular pattern. The only qualm I have is that the pictures can be a little too good (bought one coin which was still nice but slightly worse than the photo; I still liked the coin and the price was fair though).

I hope this thread is useful for newer collectors in terms of being able to recognize obviously QT, and potentially doctored coins, and the sellers who sell them. Toners are a difficult market, and certain TPGs will put the seal of approval on doctored coins. I am glad that the twist in this GTG has come out—mass selling of coins that are dubious at best. I would have bought it, if I had won the auction, knowing the color was questionable. Had I sold it, I would have disclosed the fact that while NGC considers it market acceptable, I know it’s origin, and know what is being done.

He dips most of his coins. I've sold him Indians on ebay and they show up later miraculously toned.
