    Hello everyone,
I have done threads like this one before but it has been some time since my last one..

These are ebay listings of bad titles, ridiculous asking prices and many sellers thinking their damaged coins are actual mint errors when they are not. So sad to see these items. it is even sadder when a few of them have actual bids on them :banghead:

I viewed these these sad listings this morning..

That's not Washington! $200.00 for an Off Center Strike?

I go to the error coins on eBay everyday .
I also got the same laugh out of those coins .

But I'm always looking lots of people have no idea what they're doing, and that's where I capitalized .

At least #8 is accurate in his listing title.

I guess I own you like, $100 bucks by now?

It's nice to know that I can take a common dime, run it around in my garbage disposal for a few seconds, and turn a nice profit. It would be worth it except those damn fleaBay fees take all the glory out of it.

Only if you can get a bidiot to actually buy it. Note that of the 8 coins only 2 have bids, and they are the cheap ones.

I don't see this sort of thing much differently than phone scams for various inferior/cheap services and merchandise, insurance, et al, targeting both the elderly, the young and inexperienced, plus unsuspecting others. These fraudsters are taking money under false pretenses, even if their customers are lacking common sense or the wherewithal to be discerning and know better. Ebay...if they're going to be regulating TPGs to just a few that they feel are worthy for sellers to show their slabs...ought to establish a numismatic expert or a team of (2 or 3) experts to vet these listings for accuracy of terms, descriptions and other misleading anomalies, et al. And when I say experts, I don't mean the three stooges, like maybe they already have. Understand by the numbers this could be a daunting job to be sure.

Do you think the people that list these questionable coins are actually honest coin collectors and are in it with the above entries just to see how stupid people can be?

When I see offerings like above, I want to throttle the seller. I get a vision of that villain in the Dudley Do Right; Snidely Whiplash, listing them.

I would like to known if these sellers know what they're doing and are trying to take advantage of people or they really think that these are error coins?

Sometimes while perusing eBay auctions I get to a page or two where the seller seems to have listed all of their pocket change and call common date coins rare and damaged coins errors. Haven't figured out how to block those sellers so I never see their scams again.

Both I've found. I've sent messages to people selling these at times and many times they just insist they are 'errors', other times they say thanks and they will fix... and never do of course
