Does anyone know of a resource for Bahaman coins describing metal content? This coin feels like zinc, but maybe it's silver or nickel (crossing fingers).
Beat me to it. Numista is a great database. Anytime you've got a World coin you want more information on, you can do a Google search with the country, denomination, and date, followed by "numista", as your keywords. So for example, with this one, you'd search "bahamas 25 cents 1991 numista", and you'll usually find the type you want within the top three, if not the very top, search results. Works for most modern World coin types, and even some medals and tokens, too, since Numista has such a vast database. Just a handy tip to remember. You won't always get a hit with the more esoteric or very old stuff, but most of the time, there is a Numista page out there for the coin you're researching.
It is indeed! The real challenge is when you do find something esoteric or really old. I love a challenge..
That is where the search function on Numista comes into it's own. But you are right, it can be a challenge and a lot of scrolling
