So, back to the OP... I would assume he was hoping and praying for an "S" mint mark on the reverse of that 1909 Indian Cent as it is referred to on the cover of my Whitman album. That hole remains to be filled in my collection as well
When was the art on the cover of that album approved? I bet they've changed it since America got woke. I'm just breaking chops! And yes, i WAS hoping and praying for that little "s", but my luck, as always, prevailed, yay!
I proudly display approx 2.5% Indian blood so I can speak for the rest of the population that Indian Head Cent isn't offensive
Thank you! I would just assume that a certain football team (currently without a name) may be a bit more offensive to anyone with Native American heritage.
Is there going to be anything more coin related in this post? Otherwise the moderators should shift it to the "General Discussion" forum.
I have seen many changes during the past 50+ years, but the idiots pushing all the baloney over the past few years are truly ignorant, IMO. Here's a thought: Let's burn all of the books. Now we can start over and rewrite history similar to what The Boston Globe is purportedly attempting. How's that?
Yeah, and they are always better when they are made against a group you are not a member of. Go ahead, call me a Hillbilly, but don't call me a Ridge Runner...
It's not even a real Indian/Native American/Aboriginal/Indigenous or whatever. It is possibly Sarah Longacre, James Longacre's daughter dressed up in a warbonnet. At least the nickel issued from 1913-38 shows a real American.
