https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gordianus-...248797?hash=item2f5444a91d:g:9lkAAOSwk8ReXWsi I am not seeing anything special with this coin. Ebay seems to be getting worse by the day with overpriced coins.
this guy is always overly optimistic on his pricing...he also finds incredibly rare emperors to sell.
An Albanian seller with a less than stellar feedback score and ridiculous pricing? I wouldn't touch that seller's listings with a virtual ten-foot pole.
Right now the only other thing he is selling is modern paper currency. It could be a case of: 1) Someone just trying to draw people's attention to his/her other, serious listings, or; 2) Someone with no experience with ancients who assumes any coin that old must be really valuable.
You could always start collecting casseroles instead. https://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-po...435972?hash=item2f3cdad004:g:1SEAAOSw6AxeJ4T4
Mine's nicer! I wonder if I could get two grand for it! Gordian III, AD 238-244. Roman provincial Æ 21.6 mm, 7.85 g, 1h. Moesia Superior, Viminacium, AD 242/3. Obv: IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right. Rev: P M S C-OL VIM, Moesia standing facing, head left, extending hands to bull and lion standing at her feet on either side, AN IIII (year 4 = AD 242/3) in exergue. Refs: H&J, Viminacium, 15; AMNG I 84; Varbanov 119; BMC --.
The problem with collecting casseroles is that they are difficult to find with metal detectors. Thus, most of them remain undiscovered, or at least uncovered.
I don't go by the feedback % anymore since it means nothing. I've seen ebay shops with 100% positive but everything for sale is fake. Just like this guy who had a Brutus EID MAR on auction last year that clearly was a fake just like the rest of his stuff and the bidding went to £900 I even messaged the seller telling him its fake and he says he was certain it was real lol he also has 99.8% positive https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/antiquiti
Antiques and lovely junk for sale $1,000,000 or best offer, you choose um, we'll goose um. Thanks for looking, duh...
Would you send $1500 to a guy in Tirana, Albania who has feedback from a couple of buyers saying they never received their item???
