I have a couple of these and they are decent albums. The album and slipcover are made of a plastic (imitation leather ;)) which I am certain contains PVC, as the albums are made in China, but the sliders and pages seem to be OK.
The coins do rotate unintentionally in the holes also as they are a loose fit.
All in all, they are a good album, especially for the price.

Just an aside: Based on my experience with Dansco albums I am now buying only Intercept Shield albums - a few of which I purchased to replace Danscos because of coins in them toning. Unfortunate, as I would prefer to buy Dansco which are made in the USA, rather than Intercept which are made in China, but I prefer my coins with no added unattractive "album toning".

I've had good luck with my Danscos, but 9.99 for the whole presidential dollar series? That's a good price!! I don't like the fact that they will rotate, though. I like the semi-tight fit of the dansco.....

Other comments? I know on another thread somewhere that someone had bad luck with some album and I can't remember what it was nor find it...

This topic comes up on a regular basis. Do a search for "albums" or "Dansco", "Lighthouse", "Intercept", etc. and you will see a very large number of threads.

Having said that, we have members on this forum who have had the various albums, including Dansco for decades and have had no toning on their coins. One of the most important thing to consider for long term storage is the environment your store the coins in. The best storage containers will not be able to overcome a poor environment. Even the Intercept Shield albums will tone if they are kept in a high humidity, very warm, dirty environment

In addition to the albums, holders or flips, you also need to ensure that the environment has the least amount of opportunity to affect your coins. Again, if you follow the threads on this topic, you will find plenty of specific advice on what to do.

I like my Danscos and am also considering one for my presidential dollar coins, the problem for me is of course the shipping costs LOL it gets bad when it costs twice as much to ship the album as the album actualy costs :rolling:

I purchased a dansco for the Pres dollars. Tossed out the prez pages and bought Blank Half dollar pages and put in it. I then take direct fit airtites, put the coin in an airtite and insert that in the hole for the half dollar page. Works great.

I've used Dansco for years without problems. I'm starting some new collections and have decided to go with Intercept. I didn't like the Whitman album I used about 15 years ago as it was difficult moving coins in and out of it. Anyway, $9.99 seems like a reasonable price to at least check it out. If it works for you then great, if not then you're only out 10 bucks.
