Well TC, it was a long wait. I remember reading this post in April. Not what it could've been but better than a kick in the edited! lol

What about the Buffalo nickels? Did you search all of them? It still sounds like a hoard to me. That's got to make you feel pretty good.

 

Wonderful end, even if it wasn't quite what you thought at first. Anyway, you should be able to enhance you collection with these and parlay the extras into others that you need.

happy end of story... i mean, your wife's grandmother is on a better place and the coins are in good hands

but i have to agree that giving them to the attorney in 1st. place wasn't the best idea.

 

Mexico 8 reales struck at the Durango mint The CP are the assayers initials Carlos Leon De La Pena. The 10D 20G is a weight designation. Catalog # is KM 377.4

 

Another one to check is the circulated Ikes. If there are any 1972s (not D), check the reverse for type IIs.

Go here for more details on the three reverse types for the 1972s. The type II is a pretty rare variety for this coin.

My wife just called, the lawyer called my father-in-law, and told them they neglected to give him another box filled with coins and certificates. I knew there had to be more to this stash than what I got! The lawyer has to have them appraised, then he's going to give them to my father-in-law. Keep you posted!
