1891 Canadian 5 cent silver , obverse #2 8/8 variety. Old Accurgade slab. Sometimes little gems show up in strange places.
    A very affordable purchase turned out to be a $75 coin with the top variety of that date. 20200520_210058.jpg C:WINDOWSTempE929 - 20200520_204815.jpg C:WINDOWSTempE930 - 20200520_204859.jpg C:WINDOWSTempE931 - 20200520_204937.jpg C:WINDOWSTempE932 - 20200520_204951.jpg

Having trouble figuring out the variety (I sold my Canadian guide). Is it RPD?

Shes a beauty. I love those old Canadian coins. I'm in Maine so I can get ahold of some pretty easily.

Both the Canadian and it's north American neighbor these little coins hold so much pleasure.
The early 5 cent coin or half dime is quite often over looked.
Take the example above, expand the 4th image look closely at the E in CENTS. Do you see the traces of an smaller underlaying E.

Yes, you could normally subtract 20 from whatever grade that ACG gave.
