I think your coin is more likely a weak struck coin due to the fact that all the weakness follows the path of an indirect die transfer pattern. "States of" being the most common area for weakness on a LMC.

Have you ever weighed this coin?

No my scale is in a box right now because we are moving. Once I get settled I'll weigh it and let you know if it's light.

I'm curious to why you would ask that question?
Even a greaser would weigh as much as a normal struck copper plated zinc cent.

I was thinking maybe it was because he thinks it may be a weak strike but even if it was a weak strike it should weigh the same. That said it doesn't hurt to weigh any coin ,my brain hasn't been on point lately because of being over worked and moving.

I'm leaning towards a weak strike as well. There is a lack of detail in both sides including the rims. Seems unlikely that the grease would be evenly distributed over both dies. Just my opinion.

If it's not a filled die, then another possibility would be a thin planchet. I don't think this is a thin planchet, but weighing the coin is a quick and easy way to eliminate this possibility.

I am Wondering if your weak struck coin is due to a thin planchet.
