That has absolute NOTHING with it.

An error caused due to transitioning???

Dear God, your impressive ignorance never ceases to amaze me.

Hmmm. Interesting. I know Ron Fern. I am impressed you actually named people.

    What groups?

I have to say, looking at the edges of where the gunk stops and the exposed copper begins, and that the rims don't have the gunk on them, I am in the "possibly an error" camp.

I still need better closeup photos. If you are interested, you can mail it to me to take some HD photos and I can then send it back. Let me know.

If anyone is showing ignorance here it is you. You were doubtful just like the rest of some others about the op's coin until you saw the folks of error and variety had said what it was. I am the one that told the Op the information about his coin. You have no idea what the heck you are talking here when you say a transition year had absolutely nothing to do with it. You obvisouly never read this thread or you would have not made this awful mistake . Me and the Op were talking about 58 and 59 cent reverses. You need to learn to leave others alone that are not bothering you.

I wasn't doubtful about the coin. Re-read my first post. Apparently you read as poorly as you "analyze" coins. You would have to improve dramatically just to be considered "terrible" in your numismatic skills.

Wow you are still showing doubts and are acting like you are more of a adult than me. I was learning about error coins before you were born . Calm down young feller and show your elders some respect. And try to stop downing me at every chance. You are going on my ignore list because I have asked you many times to leave me alone and it looks like you do not know how to treat others good. I have two others on the list and it is working out good . So good bye

I agree we all should play nice but some folks appears to have never learned how.

While I also believe the foreign material on the reverse of the coin became
attached after the minting process. There does appear to be something going on
under the crud. Perhaps try to gently remove the crud with a safe solvent, and
then we can see the coin.
