First of all a big "Hi" to everybody, this is my first posting in this forum! Obviously this penny went through on some hardships, but I wonder if by your opinion the tilting could happen in the mint and the damages later, or it has definitely been the result of the joint co-operation of numerous car tires or coin machines and things like that. As you can see, besides the 5, the number 7 is also tilted slightly. Thank you for your input!

First, welcome to the neighborhood @preantique ! Damage to pennies happens quite often because the copper is easily moved when hit by another object while in circulation. One of the most common examples of PMD that we see, here, is when the "T" of LIBERTY is hit and looks like LIBERYY. Sometimes, people really don't believe it when we tell them. ~ Chris

Welcome to CT @preantique. Prior to 1982 cents were mostly copper and the devices could, and would be easily distorted when struck by another hard object, PMD, and that's what happened to your coin. It's really cool looking and I would keep it, but NAV, no added value, still worth 1¢.
