Is this an indent Coin? Is the line that appears to be a die break normal?

    First Post on cointalk!
So this coin has been a struggle for me. I think I have determined it’s either an indent coin or a brockage error? I also wasn’t sure if the line that is piercing from the right side of the coin through Lincoln’s head had any significance? Also the back is not effected. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!

That's a good looking coin! I found one similar to yours (but not as large) while roll searching. A nice planchet indent. I can post pictures when I get home.

    That's a nice Indented strike - about 40-50%.

Another unstuck planchet was laying on top of
this planchet when it was struck.

The other coin would be a 40% off center strike
    cent with a uniface reverse.

Found in circulation - you're darn lucky !

If you can see the outline of Lincoln’s head wouldn’t this have to be struck on a cent that was already struck? Or would the strike pass through the unstruck planchet and make an impression?

Oh that is sweet looking! A great error but I must ask, where is the other coin that was on top of this one? That's going to be an error too.

    Welcome to CT.

MUST see the reverse before giving an opinion.

Yes this "indent" is on a cent that was previously struck, but I don't think the piece causing the indent was a blank planchet. The indent appears to show an enlarged distorted image of the lower corner area of the Memorial. It looks to me like an off-center strike of a previously struck cent through a mid to late stage capped die. A picture of the reverse would be instructive.

Nice find! Welcome to CT. I'm not qualified to give you a definitive answer, but this coin is a similar coin that's also broadstruck. Please excuse the photo, a work in progress. :( 20200129_153351.jpg

After seeing the reverse I'm going to backpedal on my earlier comment, It isn't double struck, and it does appear to be a simple indent, but I am surprised at how much of the obverse detail seems to have been transferred through the intervening planchet.

I also am amazed at the amount of detail that has transferred. I think that the intervening planchet was struck against an already struck cent that had not yet ejected from the striking collar. The cent would not have moved so no doubling would be noted and it would account for the details under the indent. Just my theory..
