Youtube is horrid and I cant seem to find decent info. Is this the small S or large S? If the internet is right , large S were in a small mintage of about 10 mil????

    That S photographed nicely!

That helped a bit Islander. TY.

If I look at the "window" to the left the bottom of the S is lower then the bottom of the window. Its got alot of wear but Im guessing its a large S. What do you think? At first I thought it might be an RPM because but I didnt find any that made sense. Definitely not a DD or anything.

Thank you. I refuse to think Im right about anything with coins and need validation before I put it in cardboard. I felt good about it but that doesnt mean squat! After looking at Islanders link, that made more sense then what I had found on the internet.

It’s not a common find as you know but as you spot the different font it becomes easier. I’ve found about a dozen or so and at some point it just clicked. It has about 10x value increase so it’s worth looking for and flip protected.

That just made my day! Too bad its in garbage grade but very cool for my extremely limited collection. Ive read multiple numbers on how many were actually produced. Do you know what the truth is? I read someone said 10 million and in another place it said 3 million.

I'm not real sure on the history only that they changed the mintmark at some point in the year to the small S. At 10M, that would be about 3 months production. At 3M, that would be about a month's production. Given the 10x value, the 3M figure seems more likely. I've found plenty of small S variety, but only around 12 Large S variety. No matter the condition, it get's the bump. And it's an easy one to spot in a worn state (once you have the font down). To be honest, I don't use the window diagnostic as I've found identification through the font to be quickest and the alignment rule doesn't always apply. There are at least 3 Large S mintmark placements, so they tend to be wherever.

You have to see examples in hand and train your eyes. Like @Kevin Mader says, it just takes time. At some point it will just click.
