It's pretty easy really. All the data you need will be on the page after you selected your checkout (addresses, names, bank numbers, etc). Once you have it all entered it will save automatically so you only have to do it once. And you can select the currency yourself so he gets paid in CAD.
I did all that. But the information I got after checkout was just the bank routing numbers. I did not get the more banal information such a street address, etc. and transferwise requested it as required fields. And the second issue was that TransferWise says they can only deposit Canadian dollars; it seemed a strange error message. I selected to send US dollars, obviously, from my US bank. Enough to make the Canadian equivalent. But that’s when I got that error message. Am I the only one who’s had a little trouble with transferwise today? I have used it before with no problem.
I had trouble with my first few Transferwise transactions but now it is easy... too easy... which sometimes leads to trouble . I'm not sure if this will help but: When you get the email from biddr instructing you to checkout, click the link, and on biddr you select your billing and shipping addresses, how you wish to pay, and shipping method. That completes the first step of checkout. You'll get an email with your invoice. On that invoice you'll find the address of AMCC along with bank info: Transferwise bank account details: transit number: 02440, institution number: 003 (Royal Bank of Canada), account number: 1033596, account name: Ancient and Medieval Coins Canada, account type: Checking Ancient and Medieval Coins Canada Suite 104 101-1865 Dilworth Dr. Kelowna, BC V1Y 9T1 Canada info@amcoinscanada.com +1 236-361-0777 Hmm, I don't know what to say about that. Are you selecting CAD in the second field (amount the company is to receive) and then filling out the invoice total in CAD, and selecting USD for the first field?
I just paid a moment ago with no issues, but that was with saved data. I'm not sure where to get the addresses if it isnt somewhere on the Biddr site for AMCC. As for sending CAD, all you have to do is select it as the receiving currency and enter the amount due, it will calculate the USD amount for you.
Just a drive-by at the moment folks, am dealing with various emails (and PayPal customer service. Does it exist?!?) @Gavin Richardson: if you want to pay in USD, biddr is supposed to ask you to email us, then we give you the total and the bank details. I will do that, either via email or pm. Sorry for the confusion!
Thrilled with the two I won (and not superstitious)! So happy to share them (I'll probably put together threads on both later). If either are from a CTer or anyone knows where they came from id love to know: T. Quinctius Flamininus, 126 BCE, AR denarius. Rome, 3.91g, 18mm. Obv: Helmeted bust of Roma right; flamen's cap behind; XVI ligate below chin Rev: The Dioscuri riding right, each holding a couched lance, stars above; Macedonian shield between T-Q below; ROMA in exergue. Crawford 267/1 The key feature of the type – the Macedonian shield on the reverse – is very clear on this example. MACEDON, Koinon of Macedon: Pseudo-autonomous issue, time of Gordian III (238-244). Beroea mint. 9.34g, 25mm. Obv: AΛΕΧΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Head of Alexander the Great right, wearing crested Attic helmet with griffin on the bowl Rev: KOINON MAKEΔONΩN B NЄΩΚΟΡ, Warrior right on horseback right (presumed to be Alexander on Bucephalus); star below. Cf. AMNG III 770. Scarce. Alexander’s name clear.
I think we had the exact same experience, and were probably rivals for a short period there. I was initially planning on targeting Orfew’s Eleanor, but decided on Geoffrey instead since I already have an Eleanor (even though Orfew’s was much nicer...)
No worries. I figured it all out with a little help from my friends! I successfully initiated the transfer. Congrats on a great auction!
I am pleased to say that after I receive my AMCC2 coin in a few weeks, my Twelve Caesars set will technically be complete. I say "technically" here because I probably won't post my set until I upgrade my Titus, which is a nice, big sestertius near-slug. At any rate, the final target for me was a pretty predictable one--Otho. I am pleased to have won @Orfew's Otho--a tough get for a budget collector like me. It has a full, legible legend, and I can still see a lot of waves in that wig, which was a priority. I hope I didn't ruin someone's run at the set. But Otho and his wig will find a happy home!
I can confirm as well PayPal working now. Managed to snag the nice Probus temple antoninianius, also my first-ever ex-Doug Smith. Had a bit of a bidding war for this one.
@Gavin Richardson Congrats on picking up the Otho! It is good to know that it will have a good home. It is also really nice to know that others will appreciate the coins that were once mine.
I won one of the lots, I bet you know which one too. Frankly, I was surprised to see the coin up for auction!
Towards the end I threw in a bid on an ex @dougsmit Kashmir coin because it looked interesting and wasn't too expensive, but got blown out of the water on that one. Happy to see so many CTers bidding; very curious to see if either of my lots show up on here. Like @Pavlos, I won a coin from the JB (Edmonton) collection, and am curious who that might be. Here is JB coin I got, which I am surprised didn't go much higher. I'll save my other winner for later: Obv: ΜΕΝΙΣΚΟΣ, magistrate's name above cow standing right, looking back at suckling calf, figure standing before, wearing chiton and headdress of Isis, and raising hand to mouth Rev: ΔΥΡ ΛΥΚΙΣΚΟY, legend in four segments around double-lined quadrilateral containing stellate pattern
Awesome auction... Kudos to Sev, and congrats to all the consignors and winners! I won several, but will share my favourite first. I’ve been wanting one of these for awhile and the stars really came together here (it was lot 2, in AMCC auction 2, and yes... I’m AMCC’s registered bidder 2!). Thanks to @TIF, I was able to win it right at my max bid. CIMMERIAN BOSPORUS, Pantikapaion, c. 310-303BC, AE 22. 7.61g, 21.5mm Obv: Bearded head of Satyr (or Pan), right Rev: P-A-N, forepart of griffin left, sturgeon left below Anokhin 1023; MacDonald 69; HGC 7, 113 Ex Lodge Antiquities
Same here . It's far afield from the rest of my collection but it was intriguing. I broke the ice on bidding but only for the minimum and smugly sat back expecting to win it. Ha! Next time I'll know better .
Dang, I hate it when I unwittingly cause a friend financial pain . It was still a good deal though. Nice coin!
