The seller on Ebay just offered me a discount on the product for $85 for being a watcher. Should I take it? I know the coin can be worth hundreds but the photo is at an angle and the description is a bit brief. https://www.ebay.com/itm/264519608590?boolp=5&ul_noapp=true
I would be worried about what appears to be a casting seam from 12 to 3 o'clock on the reverse. Make sure you can return it.
Just asked the seller. It's been repaired. And he has a guarantee that the coins will be authentic or my money back. I feel comfortable with this one.
I wonder what kind of repair. Anyway, I'd make sure you can return it. When you get it you can take some photos and post them in the ancients section for input, or if you have a local ancients guy show it to them in person.
I wouldn't. You see coins like this everyday on Sheriff auctions. Most are recast junk coins. A friend of mine bought a bunch for some good cheese. Now all she has is a fairly expensive paper weight. Then again if the seller is highly rated and has a lot of sales with good reviews. It might be worth it. Just double check your double check!
When the seller comes to you and offers you a better price, and then is willing to be haggled down lower, and then discloses some problems with the coin, it's a pass.
I only bought it for fun. If I don't like the coin I'll send it back when it comes. Stay tuned on this thread because it is supposed to come on Wednesday.
I wait for your response. Hopefully it will make it in Wednesday. If it's a day late you won't hear from me as I have knee surgery on Thursday.
Just received it in the mail. Heres some pics. Tell me what you think: If you need any more I'd be happy to send them your way. Is NGC Ancients an option as well? My dealer includes shipping in his submissions in bulk.
