I found a 2013 P (no mint mark) penny that has several die chips and a die crack. That is normal for coins recently. What's interesting is one of the chips makes it look like the top of the shield is folded. Here's the pictures tell me what you think.

If you're referring to the peak of the shield in the center above "BUS", I don't think it is a chip. It looks like it took a hit that pushed it back. I think it is PMD.

I'm adding 2 more pictures I'm trying to get the best pictures I can with the USB camera I have saving for a better one. Hopefully you can see it in these it's actually not a major find I just thought it was interesting that the chip makes it look like the shield is folded over you can actually see the shield isn't bent it's just the chip gives the impression when the light hits it at the proper angle that itsi bent. These pictures should show the chip plus the shield still undamaged.

Again, if you are referring to the peak of the shield, it is not a chip! The coin took a hit which pushed the coin metal from its original shape.

Why do you think that more pictures will change anything? Just say you don't believe me, and submit the coin to an error specialist or a grading service and waste your money.

Yup, looks like damage. You can see metal was moved. Not much but enough for it to be identifiable. I don't know if there's any correlation, but there's also a scratch/scrap mark from the A all the way down to the damage. Like something like another coin or something scraped down and smashed the top of the shield.

The top center of the shield took a hit and some of the metal rolled back. You must remember that it's made of zinc which is a very soft metal.

Just above the U on the shield is s bump and that looks like a die chip.

I appreciate everoevery opinions. Like I said in another thread I'm going to wait till I can afford a decent USB camera I'm using a cheap one I got from Geek (Chinese knock off) top make anymore posts. If the metal had been pushed back enough to make the piece that I "claim to be a chip" the thin copper layer would have been damaged enough that the zinc underneath would be showing. Which it isn't. Besides I thought the pictures showed the shield at the top was still intact.

Also I'm not angry or just being stubborn I'm just frustrated with poor equipment. I know wether or not it's a chip or something else it's not anything that's worth anything more than a penny I just thought it looked kinda cool. Have a great day everyone.
