1983 s proof penny, zinc error?

    It's supposed to be zinc. I don't know what the question is.

    since 1983 composition on copper had change, this penny has errors with the coating of zinc mixture is wrong,,,i think i should have it graded

    If you're referring to the slight color differences that is toning. Nothing wrong with the zinc or copper mixture that I can see. Not worth grading either.

    I guess you was thinking it was Wrong Planchet Error (Transitional)? You thought it was supposed to be struck on Copper, but instead of Zinc right? The last year of Copper was 1982. So 1983 is Zinc. Nothing wrong with it.

    There's no coating of zinc mixture.
    The plating is copper. The zinc is on the inside.
    It looks normal to me.
