1942 D Lincoln penny error?

    Now I just wondering if this penny had the mark going through the date was during the minting process or after.

    Not a mint error. That was done post-mint. Just damage.

    Likely a coin coin counting machine or a roll crimper. Both can cause that type of damage on a coin.

    Would always like to see the reverse of the coin as well.
