Off center 2012p Denali quarter

2 months ago I would be thrilled but I'm learning a lot. Off Center? Yes, But within tolerance - nothing is missing. Looking for second opinion. TIA

Misaligned die, don't think it will carry a premium in the condition, but wait for more opinions.

 

terminology - I shouldn't say "off center" but Misaligned?

 

Welcome to Coin Talk. It's always best to post clear photos of both sides of the entire coin. This would allow a more accurate diagnosis of your coin. From the one photo it looks like a misaligned die. Could also be an off center strike. Check this out:

Re terminology, both "off center" and "Misaligned" are correct. Depends on the coin.

 

Thanks @thomas mozzillo - I learned something again. The obverse is good so this is a minor misalignment?

Thanks for the help - did I misread the link? Off center will show on both sides but this one is off on the reverse only.

 

Yes to Misaligned Die Strike. Not an Off Center Strike.

 

MAD = Misaligned die.

 

NOT off center. Look up misaligned die in Error-ref.com.

The reason for being harsh is that there are many new collectors who use this site and it's important that they get accurate info.

 

I did look it up, its so minute on his it does not matter.

 

+1 MAD. Could be partial collar if part of the reeding is missing, like this.
