1955-S LHC 2-COLORS

    This Lincoln is from a roll of 55-S LHC from CROCKER Bank, Sunnyvale, California.

    My guess is, the alloy did not mix well?

    Yes I agree with you. Improperly Mix Alloy. Nice looking coin.

    There are another 14 from the roll that shows a progressive die deterioration on the reverse, left wheat ear. I will post it in the Roll Hunting section.

    Yes you are correct, they are called that. Especially when the stripes are numerous and close together. I would dare say that each one of these is unique to this category.

    This is a rare toning pattern and color that I've pretty much only see in the 55-S's. I'm betting that color is even more greenish and brighter that your pictures show. I found 3 similar coins in all my years of collecting and only seen other members post 2 or 3 since I've been a member here. CONGRATS on the find!
