Here is a purchase I made last night from ebay. The 115a variety is a R4+. It wasn't listed as such but was an easy id.
I love how prominent the die cracks are on this piece. I'd love to know thoughts on grade (details obviously, like most raw bust halves). These are seller's photos. I'll post more when the coin arrives.

I was a bidder on that one, but gave up pretty early into it. Looked cleaned, but definitely a neat variety. Recognized it right away.

VF35 det. But I hope it isn't cleaned.

Cool. I've been outbid on a number of bust halves lately. To many of you guys looking at them, I reckon.

Yeah, there seems to be A LOT of interest on eBay in capped bust halves. I paid up for this one ($150) but think the value is there relative to what other much more common pieces are going for.

Here are a couple comps in terms of grade from past heritage auction sales. I positioned min in between the VF20 and the xf45 for comparison sake.

Just received the bust half in the mail and took some additional photos. Let me know your thoughts on grade/details. I'm pretty happy with the way it looks in hand. Love the die cracks!

I'm not going to argue with that! Thoughts on old cleaning?

Like 99%+ of ALL bust halves (yes, even those "original" ones in major TPG slabs) it looks like it has been at least wiped if not cleaned. Much harsher cleanings have graded. It's the scratches that would IMO preclude a straight grade from one of the "big two" TPGs.
