Can someone tell me about this coin? Worth keeping or selling? 15472792700407149166893708797451.jpg 15472793350228804556167042549056.jpg 15472793913359131408073011014700.jpg 15472794664602435615227593785336.jpg

It is only slightly off center in the inner ring. I see these often. What you really want to look for is the 2002-J 2€ coin.

The 2004 J piece has a mintage of about 22 million. If this was a 2005 or 2006 coin, it would be from an opened set, and thus possibly have a value slightly above face. But this one is a spender ...

My interest has just recently picked up on exactly these coins; "2-euro coins". I would be happier than happy to find some place to get these. I live in Chicagoland. My current extensive 2-euro collection includes these four(4) coins of a grade I would call "NC" (nicely circulated). Now whereas everything else in my collection is at AU-58 or better, these coins make me happy. I would like to collect more of these coins but I just can't seem to find them. Help in this area would be appreciated.

Current 2€ value = $2.29 usd. (just for factual conversation).

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

I live in Europe but can also ship to the US paying US shipping rates. If you are looking for certain 2€ coins, let me know in a private message. I was collecting EVERY type of 2€ coin I could find, but after collecting over 350€ in 2€ coins, I realized I couldn’t afford to collect them all and took them to the bank. I’d be happy to help you out.

Ah, that means you did not have the €2 commem from Monaco featuring Gracia Patricia (Grace Kelly, mintage 20,001) which currently has a four digit value ...

@Zeppo Shanski - it will be easier if you focus on the €2 circulation coins, and ignore the commemorative pieces. (The four you show here are in fact "regular" issues.) Why? Every euro country can issue two commems per year - that would be 23 x 2 = 46 coins every year. Fortunately some countries issue no or hardly any (but issue country specific collector coins instead). So being "complete" will be tough, even if you exclude the four countries that are not European Union members but issue euro coins based on monetary agreements with the EU. These "mini-countries" also have "mini-mintages" = €€€ or $$$. ;)

With the staining and wear, condition is AU53-55. The "J" is a mint mark corresponding to Hamburg, Germany, so that's where this one was made. You should keep it if you don't have a better one.

Google "German euro coins" and you will find info on the 4 other mints that produce euros in Germany. Wikipedia will get you there too...Spark

Cool set! If you wanted to, you could add some more; various countries have updated their "regular" designs in the past couple of years. But having all euro countries, including the tougher ones such as Andorra or Monaco, is an achievement by itself. :)

I actually have a full 8 piece set from each country.
You mentioned Andorra and Monaco. Both were costly. Vatican would be next
