Nice, but still only worth 1 cent.

I would give it a VF-20 or a EF-40 so that puts it at .30 cents or .60 cents. But the price doesn’t matter to me I like the coin and it was circulated and in awesome condition considering that.

Thank you! I was excited to see it and amazed how bright it was for a 41

I'm afraid it's only a very average 1941 cent, but if it's a coin roll hunting find, then that's neat.

This is a very nice 1941 cent. (Not mine.)

The one I posted is a proof. PCGS PR66 RB.

I agree that your find is nice for a CRH discovery. (I initially didn't realize I was on the Coin Roll Hunting forum. You're right- it isn't really fair to compare a CRH find with all of the others out there. Different rules, different game.)

When I was a kid in the 1970s it was easy to find Wheat cents in rolls. Not so much any more. I only see them once in a while.

No it is not easy at all but I have had some very good luck finding them I have found 1 or 2 every time I have went through rolls I get $6 at a time. I have a couple I found from the 30’s those are the oldest cents for me so far. And it is all good I didn’t think you meant anything by it. My biggest thing is when something is posted and someone comments “it’s not worth much” or won’t bring a high premium. I don’t post stuff to find the price I have a book for that lol and not in it for the money totally haha but momma didn’t raise no fool. I actually got excited because I thought it could be a bronze cent I had never seen a WC that nice and bright befor

    As it should have.

You hunt long enough, you might eventually find some late-1950s Wheat cents with traces of intact mint red. Doesn't happen often, but it happens. And I have found AU and even UNC early Jeffersons. And even a few Buffalo nickels, which are always startling to find in circulation, considering they were discontinued 80 years ago.

The only buffalo I have my grandma have to me. I have a lot of 39’s and 1940’s nickels I have found 2 38 nickels one that is in terrific conditions. I have a few 1950’ WC. Wha exactly are you talking about I have never heard of that I am about to get them out and check them haha

It IS a bronze cent. Technically all US small cents from late-1864 until mid-1982 are, with the exception of 1943.

I was mistaken I meant to say I thought it was one from 43 obviously it is not lol. I had read in my book about them the day before I found it and got excited

    No, that is damaged.

This is what a coin with traces of original mint red looks like.

Technically it is a Brown (BN) coin, but as you can see, there are faint traces of red there.

It’s hard to get a good picture where you can see the copper shinning through real well of any of them. 5CA45A2D-AD3D-4BB9-9928-6DD8A0C026B1.jpeg 3A90A64A-4D3F-434B-B89D-6252967469AD.jpeg

I see a little bit of red on the 1958-D. Keep looking, there are still red coins out there. I found a 1957-D cent the other day that was blazing red with no brown, so there are still red cents out there. :D

Yep! That '58-D has tiny traces of original Red in a few of the recesses.
