This isn't really paper money but we don't have a forum for exonumia so I figured I'd put it here.

I came across these items -- Superman Bucks. I've done a small amount of research and they seem to be from the 40's or 50's and appear to be similar to green stamps. I guess kids would somehow obtain them and then be able to trade them in for different items.

I have 9 of the $10 notes, 6 of the $5 notes, and 13 of the $1 notes for a total of $136. I've seen values all across the board but I'm not really interested in getting rid of them. They range in condition from AU to VG.

I was just curious if anyone else had any experience with these? I don't think they would have any value to the numismatic community but I'm wondering if there is any interest in the Superman-collectibles community?

    And who was "Tim"?

Very good information, @Kentucky ! So I was pretty close in comparing them to green stamps. That one that sold for $28 looked pretty close to CU so I'm sure mine would be worth much less. Still, it's a nice throw-back to the 40's to have something like that to hold on to.

Or you can pick up a silver Superman for about $21 :)

The supermans are really nice, the luster is different from other coins as the stripes make it look like a clock.
