As the title states I’m trying to get some idea on what this little collection would be worth. For those not familiar it’s 4 UNC rolls of 1946-d and 1 roll of UNC 1947-d I know with out seeing them it’s impossible to know for sure but maybe you guys and gals could give me some type of idea
You really need to sit down and look at these as if they are full step nickels in mint state 65 and up plus the 46 D/D variety, and also nicely toned be could be talking from 30 to 300$ each depending. From your images some look like gem condition.
And look for Full Steps. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/th...erson-nickels-defined-photographically.49827/ The holder could be worth more than the coin.
@dubish1946 Using the current issue of Numismatic News, the base price for a roll of 1946D uncirculated is $75.00 and 1947D is $72.00. This is just a guideline but everything depends upon how they grade out individually and as stated above, be on the lookout for the OMM 1946 D and Re-punched mint marks also. Nice looking coins from these photos.
Just to asure you as this is the internet.....all of the above posters ,are looking out for your best interest....we aren' t experts.....so to speak......but been in the hobby for decades. As a new member we don't want you to be taken or loose value due you for the quality you have.
BTW, nice original rolls of these are not so easy to find. Handle these coins with gloves. And if doing anymore photos, lay on a soft cloth and don't overlay them. You want to avoid any scratches you might incur doing this as above.
Wow! Thank you so much for all the info, and for looking out for my best interests. I’m super excited to have these in my possession. It looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me. Can you please suggest the best way to store them. They are in clear plastic cases now. Should I separate each one and store them that way? And could someone recommend a case or holder.
Once you sort them out, the best ones should have capsules. Mundane ones are okay in the plastic tubes.
