Look what I found, don’t care about value. I think it’s pretty cool

Having a coin collection is great; having a coin collection that has some family history is even better. Enjoy those coins (I am sure that you are)!

Oh I am. I think it’s very cool. I’ve always collected and saved ones I liked no matter the value or not. So to be able and see all of this is really amazing to me. Will all go to my son whenever I croak.

I found a tiny 1976 bicentennial quarter in the coinstar reject bin this year....looks like it should belong with this one!

If they did it wasn’t me. First time I’ve set eyes on them.

They’ve been in a banks safe deposit box for years. As far as I know they’ve been there as long as I’ve been alive.

My grandfather was a millionaire so he either didn’t care or received them like that. Doesn’t matter to me. It’s still cool I think.

Welcome, Lance. Are the coin albums full of coins?

Not all of them. Had one turd of a family member go in and steal some of the coins out of a few books. And just as I imagined, they knew jack about what they took from them.

I'm very glad to see that you are keeping the collection and using the opportunity to learn. So many people take collections and just unload them to the lowest bidder. I hope that what you inherited will only be the start of the collection you leave your kids. BTW I have 2 young girls and I'm trying to pass on some knowledge to them so that a love for coins continues in our family.

I’m just going through them all and documenting everything that’s in it and a round about price on e erything to leave to my son so he can one day go back through it and check out everything for himself. With instruction to not get rid of any of it because he will never be able to replace any of it.

Am I the only one who has actually had legitimate dreams about finding somthing like this collection? And then I wake up and I get really mad... those bills are beautiful and the SLQ is looking like a snack :p.

    Thanks,
    Jacob
