@Gator . First I don't see anything unusual, with the reverse, There might be a scratch in the area but no error.

Second. Keep working at picking up the terminology. You'll do it. Many of us got a chuckle out of adverse instead of obverse, but it's apparent you're not a long time collector, so you get credit for the attempt. However, don't forget that this is an anonymous forum, so things can get rough at times

However, some have made valid points. You're posts sometimes look like a quickly sent text, with creative punctuation, spelling and typing errors. This makes it difficult to read and understand what you're asking. Take a minute to do a quick proof read to see if your post makes sense before sending. You don't need to worry about every mistake, just make it look like you weren't in a hurry to post it before the light turns green.

Before I gave up in defeat, I told the students in my high school English classes that it is important to learn proper terminology; otherwise it would be impossible to understand what the difference between gerund and diphthong are. My seniors rewarded me by turning in 30 book reports that were identical, word-for-word.

Ooh, ooh, I know, I know. Gerund is a company that makes teddy bears with soft fur and a diphthong is a scanty form of underwear. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

They do it while they're driving, these days, and putting on their cosmetics and checking out their hair in the rear-view mirror...

And now you know how many of us feel; sucks, doesn't it?

Now, to extend an olive branch, "JHMO" was intentional and simply because you wouldn't be able to look it up if unfamiliar. In its proper form it's "JMHO" or Just My Humble Opinion.

I admit that long ago when text-speak became common here, I gave up on caring about posting in a proper fashion, but still, the written word is how we communicate on the forum, so making even a modest or minimal effort to ensure the reader will understand you is paramount.

And a belated welcome, Mr. Gator.

What you have is the earlier design. In 1987 the mint modified the reverse. Besides making the end of the ribbon straighter, they realigned the rays slightly. Notice on the dates up through 1986 the third ray from the left goes "behind" the eagle's wing. On 1987 and beyond, the third ray from the left just misses the wing and goes up interrupted.

Yes I'm new to the terminology of this. However I'm a texting mofo lol. I sent out the coin this morning to pcgs for grading and authentication. The silver coin is in great condition. I did mention that 4 th line it's probably nothing but was worth the excitement while it lasted

Nice one Kurt. I figured that if you posted enough jokes to CT, statistically, one has to be funny sooner or later. :dead:

One easy way to highlight differences is to display a normal coin next to the different variety. Take two 2x2 coin holders and don't bend them. Put the normal coin on the right and the weird coin on the left and not the differences on the holder. Staple and it will always be together. good luck.

    You submitted it as what?

I sent it ups just to be graded and authenticated ,with a letter asking them to check that line ,not sure if it's a shooting star or fireworks on the coin. If it's nothing I'm happy with the grading, ya know it's in very good condition.

You haven't submitted coins before, have you?

As for its condition, I don't doubt you feel it's very nice, but there's often a great difference between what a knowledgeable and inexperienced person will view as "good" (which is actually a descriptor for a lesser/low grade) or worthy. Still, you seem to have a good attitude about this, and one can only hope that in the end you'll take something good away from the experience.
