2017 1 Oz American Palladium Eagle Coin (BU) Mintage 15,000 Release Date October 2nd 2017 Let's open up the discussion!
Would have been nice to have been under a 10k mintage for the first year. 15k sounds low but 10k is a lot for the platinum's as a comparison. It is a little tempting to get one being it's the first. That's assuming the mintage is correct
I don't buy gold Eagles; I don't buy platinum Eagles; why would I want a palladium one? If past is prologue, year 1 will likely be a very high mintage compared to out years.
And while we’re at it, I’ll take a big ol’ hard pass on the 4-piece Liberty medal set too. It doesn’t go with any set I keep. I’m not into solo acts these days.
The “regular” one, or the fancy shmancy set? Generally speaking, I don’t really collect US Mint medals, outside of having a complete set of bronze Presidential medals.
The "regular" one. Probably the silver but maybe the gold. I like the idea of the different ethnicity. Every other year the US Mint will release a new one of these coins with a different ethnicity portraying Liberty, I love this idea. I feel if I get the set this year Ill be inclined to do it every year and that gets expensive.
I can see getting a standard one, if you want to get the series looking forward. I’ve decided not to play the game. I mostly only do legal tender denominated coins (but you should see the medal junk I’ve accumulated just from bulk auction lots), and I’m not into silver because it’s silver. It doesn’t fit for me.
