Not a new acquisition, I remember buying this in a large department store in Montreal, in about 1970. I was mildly interested in the Hudson Bay Co., and the 300th Anniversary. The medal has the ship Nonesuch on one side, and the nicely done dual date of 1670-1970. There is a bit of corrosion (?) at the top on the dated side. It's more apparent in the scan than on the actual piece. Are these type of things collected, or just curiosities. I do collect Prince Edward Island tokens, but this is something else entirely. Opinions welcome.
Not sure how many collect such medals, but that is a neat souvenir. This museum in the UK has one too, and that also has some bad spots. Then again the page provides some background info ... http://collections.rmg.co.uk/collections/objects/39526.html This photo (from an auction) shows the medal in its original presentation case: http://media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/29398/25775916_1.jpg?v=8D3EFADAE92AA40 Christian
