Hey there guys and gals. It's been quite a while since I have posted. I was on a mission to make my growing collection impressive haha, hope all you have been good and the hunting and searching has been also good. Thought I would share and see what information come of this interesting new coin to my collection. Is it worth getting certified? The coin - 2017 2 dollar toonie. 150th anniversary. Noticed - horribly aligned paint or colour (the glow) - lettering doubling on D. G. REGINA - center on the coin is heavily faded for just coming out. Thank you for your time and if you have any question feel free to ask Pocket_change
So I've seen. They're actually circulation pieces too. It's sort of cool and cringey at the same time. At least they done it with something wonderful like the northern lights ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes they do and they are super neat haha only 3 million were issued. I pick up a few recently. The one posted is completely odd compared to the others (8) I do wonder about the life of the glow/if possible the rads that are emmited for it. Haha interesting regardless first glow in the dark coin.
I need one because it's my sons birth year and also the first year I managed to photograph the northern lights ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh that's awesome!!! They are not to $$$ for a regular one. One did sell for 2gs the or is still up for sale on ebay...
From a country with a population of only 36ish million... Also, as for being a doubled die, I don't believe so, but do think one thread will probably suffice.
I do think that they likely do have varying degrees of glow from coin to coin. It is a cool coin though and like the idea behind it.
I like to get a large range of responses. Plus sarcasm is really the reason why I see new members drop of this site quite fast. 36ish million.... I have this posted in two different forums. Oh my!!!! I think this response will suffice.
So when the mods end up combining your threads, you be sure to tell them the same; it's their request, not mine. Oh, and yes... Canada's approximate population is 36 million. Apparently the concept of sarcasm escapes you.
There are no rads as it isn't a radioactive isotope, it is just a photo reactive dye in the paint or enamel. Such are used in many "learn science" modules for home taught curriculum. And Books is correct, members want a single thread , mods want a single thread as multiples cause questions such as where did my post go?, what happened?, and then perhaps as you answered Spam? comes into play, so don't mess with members on purpose. Jim
It is not a "double-die". It has just a tad bit of machine (mechanical) doubling that you have to jack up to 100x just to see it. The RCM will pump out anything that they can sell for 3-5 times face value (or 10x for anything with silver)..
