This one turned out to be a MS-65 in an older NGC no line fatty holder. The coin in hand has spectacular eye appeal. The surfaces are nearly proof like and very reflective. The marks on her cheek really stand out in the photo's compared to in hand. Also the mark on her nose appears to be a strike through, kinda odd, I did not see it or the reflective marks on her cheek under the florescent lighting of the shop that I bought it at. Oh well, it's not too distracting to me in hand. I think the reverse really makes up for it to me. I think it's stunning.
These early S mints are more strictly scrutinized for these outstanding dies. But when Nature has been as kind as it's been to this one, one has to loosen up some. That's why, for the market, this one's an easy MS65.
Love the coin! I think the grade is spot on, and the toning is fabulous To me that is a star coin for sure, and would most likely a Gold bean.
