Aw, I overpaid for my first couple and probably my 24th, 53rd and 99th. It happens.
I think most of us have.

that is the true symbol of healers.. for some reason, we have been given the 2 snake thang in its place for years. i don't know why though other than a misnomer.

Hey folks, I need your help. I got these coins as freebies a while back and I never bothered to document what they were before taking them out of their flips, as I kept them around to give them to newer members as gifts.

I'm sending them to @LaCointessa , but could you please attribute them for her? I know nothing about Chinese cash and much less about LRBs. I believe the little coin is a Constans? I'm more confident that the bottom one is a Valens. The cash coin I have no idea, except that it is AD mid-700's.

    Thanks folks for your help.

**No likes please...just help me attribute them.**

No problem with that seller. I will get the money I paid for those coins returned to me. I feel better. I did not bargain for sucky expensive coins, after all. Thanks you guys!

Tomorrow, after I get done with some (ugh!) work, I will show you the inexpensive ancients I got from another seller after those overpriced ones. They arrived today, too; but, I haven't even looked at them yet!

@LaCointessa I wouldn't worry about it unless you overpaid by a rediculous amount.
A little over a year ago I bought an Arcadius real common and real worn. It wasn't my first ancient but maybe 4th or 5th or so. Anyway I overpaid by around $20 or $30 (I knew I probably did anyway), I still have it and even posted it here about a year or so ago. Nobody gave me a hard time about it but was given some sound advice and learned from it.

Thank you @Smojo. I got a bunch of sound advice here already about those coins so they served their purpose. I can use the money. Plus, I have these inexpensive coins that I will show you after I take time to look at them well and photograph them. That will be fun. I am not sure what some of them are (in terms of attribution). I would not be surprised if some of those are fake;but if some are, I would be learning what is NOT correct in an ancient coin - which is very important.

@Sallent, post 209: Smaller LRB looks like Constans (as Augustus), larger is Valens. The Chinese coin is a Kai Yuan (inscription Kai Yuan Tong Bao), these were issued for much of the Tang dynasty (618-907 AD). After squinting at the Hartill catalog for five minutes I _think_ your coin is from the Early type period (621-718 AD), Hartill #14.1, but telling these types apart depends on very subtle differences in the Chinese characters and I'm not great at that. Hope this was helpful.

@LaCointessa: I have a bunch of cleaned but common and not-super-beautiful late Roman bronze coins I don't need, if you want to practice attributing them PM me and I will be happy to send them to you.

Gosh, such kindness! Thank you for helping identify the @Sallent coins. I hope to learn how to identify ancient coins.

don't worry about a less than stellar first coin purchase, i've made less than stellar 156th coin purchases. BUT, do listen to all the great advice given here. I'm looking forward to seeing your coins that arrived today.
