What's on my lincoln cent?

    Large and unusually located plating bubble, perhaps?

    maby it got the wrong plating

    The lettering seems clear so I would think it happened after being minted...:confused:

    I am going to stab that you have some zinc rot going there. If not, a plating bubble.

    I've seen this quite a bit with lincolns. Seems like a form of die deteriation. Looks like a later die strike to me

    Here's one of mine that's similar:

    Note how the luster is only on the center of the obverse. Kinda bowl shaped. Typical of late die strikes

    die deterioration... the "hump" thru the moto is a dead giveaway..
