stopped by over a dozen banks, came away with less than $10 in clad halves.

At the last bank, an older woman was turning in some rolls, so of course I bought those - 2 rolls of quarters, and 3 in pennies. Each quarter roll had extra coins - one had an extra quarter and a nickel, and the second had 4 extra quarters, and another nickel. In one of the penny rolls was a dime... and a 2003 Bermuda cent.

NICE! I also found one yesterday, but with wear and bag marks all over so didn't bother posting photos. Still looking for one that nice! Tough to find in bank rolls.

Stopped by my bank to deposite some Christmas money, and of course I had to ask if they had any halves... I came away with 4 halves, 3 being 40%ers. I always love silver :D

I had a nice first day of crh in 2016. I usually don't do boxes but a Bank of America had one they wanted to get rid of. It yielded 3 Bennies, a 1964-S proof (not pictured), five 1964's and 20 forty percenters. I got seven more forty percenters later in the day. About 7.2 ounces all told!

I went back to the same branch where I got four silver coins (2 nickels, 2 dimes) last month. Not as much luck this time. I went through 10 rolls each of quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies:

Quarters - Skunk as usual (although I was able to replace a few of my state quarters with better BU's)
    Dimes - One 2009-P
    Nickels - Skunk
Cents - 2 bright red borderline uncirculated 1962's, 1938 wheat in very fine condition, 1951-D wheat ave condition, about 30% of pennies were copper

Grabbed a handful of customer nickel & dime rolls today...

    Nickels: 1947-D, 1954

Dimes: 2009-P, and in the last roll I opened it up and saw 2 silver rims, which turned out to be a pair of Barbados 10 cents. Also in the roll was a 2012 Canada dime and 1969-E Swiss 10 (centimes?). At least it was something different.

Stopped by a branch that had $34.50 in halves, and included two casino-wrapped rolls - first time I'd ever seen that. Since I'm pretty sure that most casinos discontinued coin-operated slot machines awhile back (therefore making them exactly zero fun), maybe there would be something older in here?

Alas, they were all clad, but strangely enough, both rolls were almost exclusively full of circulated 1992, 1993, and 1994 coins.

Picked up a box of nickels and lunch and the teller asked if I wanted a box of quarters. What the heck I said to myself, I can maybe fill a few National Parks holes...
    Here is what I found:

I used to get halves at Mohegan Sun playing blackjack. Can't remember the last time I got them there though, maybe 7 years ago?

Last time I played blackjack there, they had switched to 50 cent tokens.

OK I've been very lax about posting my finds lately. Here you go...

My first box of the year was also my best ever! BWR Cents from my usual branch. Must have been part of a big stache of coins. The rolls were mixed well with many new coins, but I found 88 wheatbacks mixed in! I know, crazy good luck. Here's what that box yielded...

    20160104_191349.jpg

The next two boxes weren't quite as lucrative, 21 wheatbacks and 11 wheatbacks. The 3 boxes together yielded 10 1968-1974 S mints too, and 34 Canadian cents.

    All told, there were (2) 1918, 1919, (2) 1936, 1937, 1938, (10) 1940, (8) 1941, (6) 1942, (10) 1944, 1944-D, (6) 1945, 1945-D, (7) 1946, (7) 1947 (one with nice luster), 1949, (2) 1950, 1950-D, (2) 1951, (3) 1951-D, 1951-S, 1952, (3) 1952-D, (2) 1953, (7) 1953-D, (5) 1956-D, 1957, (13) 1957-D, (8) 1958, (3) 1958-D!!!

    20160112_235318.jpg

And there was also a fairly anemic BWR box of Nickels. No fabulous coins, condition-wise.

    1939, 1940-S, 1941, 1946-D, (2) 1947, (2) 1948, 1952, 1952-D, 1953, (2) 1953-D, (2) 1954, 1954-S, 1956-D, 1957, (4) 1957-D, (2) 1958-D, 1959-D, 2009-P, 2009-D. Plus 15 1960's coins to check against my collection, 13 1970-2015 coins to check, 1970 Bermuda, and 7 Canadians.

    20160112_232307.jpg

Finally, I went to a coin shop and hunted 14 Indian head cents all for less than 1/2 last year's Red Book prices and also got an 1858 Flying Eagle cent for 85 cents. The folks in there liked me and gave me a 12% discount on the coins. Happy New Year to me! :)
