The first pictures are of a 1940 S, nice coin, probably unc.

To me that is XF because of the flatness on the chest.

i see some wear on the chest but other then that good strike i would say au-58 to ms-62 depending on who you ask

Nice. But I was curious, is that color just from the lighting?

I see wear on the chest and leg, so au53, but very pretty

    Guys:
My first reaction was that it has wear, but check the date: 1940 S!
    Aside from the 1941 S, 1942 S and the 1943 S, the 1940 S (I believe) is one of the worst strikes.
You can't compare them to the Phillies or Denver from the same time period.

It doesn't look so flat in the hand. I've tried a few times to photo this coin and its the hardest coin I've ever photoed. The color is slightly yellow compared to the real thing. The actual coins are very white with some decent shine.

I think it probably passes as an UNC coin based on how poorly most 1940-S Walkers were struck.

Look by the edge, next to the eagle. Very nice walker. Feathers have very nice detail IMO. :thumb:

I'd go along with ya Frank except for the color variation on the high points - I have to say AU on this one.

Nice looking coins and about Uncirc condition. Such coins should be carefully inspected by me so if you send them to me, I'll give you a great big thank you and let you know what I think about them. Of course no returns but I will let you know how they like their new home.
