Just moved to a rural area from DC... Thought I'd stop in at a local bank just to see. Bought $20 in halves, they had $90 but wanted to start small... Joked with my roommate that they were all silver and we'd have to go back after getting home.

Sure enough, I crack em at home and 24/40 were 40%! Went back for the rest with my heart pounding....

Zilch. Must've flirted with the cute teller to get the good ones first!

But, by FAR the best ever... Before this I'd gotten maybe 6-8 out of over $1500 searched from DC.

    Love this town!

After I found the five rolls of solid silver halves last week, the bank called the man who deposited them. He said he had more and I should come see him in the am.

    Here's what he had:

I paid him more than 5 times face and he was happy...and so was I! There is a nice 1894-O Morgan about VF. Also 12 1964 Kennedy and 24 40 percenters. 22 Morgan Silver Dollars in all.

I went to my favorite bank today and asked for half dollars. They had 19 and five were silver. Three forty percenters, two 1964 Kennedy and 1 Walking Liberty half dollar. Nice!

I hope this doesn't make treashunt grumpy again. Better karma to be happy for each other....

I wish...the best coin is the 1894-O Morgan.

Though that 1895 Barber quarter looks nice (low AU). That's a nice coin.

Though for only 5xface, you killed it.

I agree. That was the coin that really caught my eye when I first saw the picture.

Unfortunately someone tried to clean it with an eraser: it's all scratched now.

    $95.50 loose Halves: 1x1964, 6x40%

I've been having decent luck with halves...but I have to leave town in order to find a bank who will take them without a fee. Got about $1100 worth of halves on hand.

21 pre 60 keepers from a box of nickels, including a dateless buff and the first 38 I've found in circulation. Treated the buff 4 times with nic a date and it almost looks like a 1920, it may need a few more treatments.

Went and dumped $1088 worth of halves out of town. Well worth the trip. Not only did they give me $1088.02 due to two cents already in the machine but I also picked up two silver coins from the teller tray:

Went through $80 CWR nickels this afternoon and turned up 23 pre-60 keepers plus a 42-P (that almost looks like it has been chromed), a dateless buffalo, and a 48-D that was nice and crisp (much better looking in person than the picture indicates). Also turned up my first coin from Guatemala in this batch - 10 centavos dated 1992.
