    Hey guys,

I got this coin tonight from my girlfriend's stepfather. Now obviously its a corroded 2 cent piece from 1864, but what do I have here? I've looked it over several times and I'm convinced it's a small motto.

    Any thoughts?

It is indeed the small motto. Too bad about the corrosion.

Thanks for the confirmation Rick. How badly does the corrosion hurt the resale value if it ever came to that point?

    Badly.
Looks like IF IT GETS SLABBED it'll come back XF DETAILS.
I say XF because of the apparent wear on the horizontal shield details.
BUT since it's a key date/variety you could get as much as 50% of XF catalog (but I'd be hoping for at least 25%).
